Hepburn vs. Hilton

                           

 It's not 1960's anymore, and we're stuck in this new world where clubbing every night and hooking up with the cutest boys is the right thing to do. Growing up during the epoc of Paris Hilton was rather difficult because we as girls follow the trends unconsciously, and we all wanted to be friends with the mini Paris Hiltons in our school.

 Throughout my eighteen years, I've met at least a dozen girls who strive to be just like her. Most of the girls in my school wear mini skirts with tight shirts that show the toned belly and they get drunk every weekend because they think that's the definition of cool. However, cool will never open doors for you, it will only introduce you to vices, fake friends and a miserable life. Even though Paris Hilton has changed, her reputation was damaged and she will never get it back. She is the example of a person judged and victimized by society, and this will go on forever because she will never be able to mend it. She made some terrible decisions that define her now.

  On the other hand, growing up during the epoc of the classy and lovely Audrey Hepburn must have been quite rough with trying to measure up to her, but it was sure a hell of a nice time. Audrey was the definition of beauty, class, health, kindness, talent, and, above all, humble. She never let fame change her and she became  an amazing human being because not only did she help UNICEF, but she also helped many girls like me set straight the definition of beauty. Even if she is long gone, spiritually she's in my heart guiding me. She's helped me find the beauty in the darkest of days, and she taught me that beauty was equal to happiness not vice versa. Audrey Hepburn was a classy woman because she never let a man define her. She was herself and she made no excuses; she did not apologize for who she was, and she still had every man chasing her. 

  It's not doing the coolest thing that matters, is doing the classy thing because society is always behind your back and it knows everything, and one day when you're happy with life....society will come and show your black cards. Never let a man define you because you are more than just a girl, who according to them are supposed to be cleaning and taking care of kids. You are a strong, independent woman that needs no knight in shining armour to save you. You are the hero of your fairytale.
